Dr. Heath Jolliff has dedicated the past three decades to clinical practice and medical education. His coaching journey began as a residency and fellowship program director, where he mentored young physicians and faculty in leadership, teamwork, and communication. Through his private coaching practice, he works with individual physicians, healthcare leaders, and healthcare systems. Additionally, he is a consultant, author, and national speaker on physician burnout, leadership, and career transitions.

- Over 30 years of experience as faculty, associate program director, and program director at rural, urban, and university academic medical centers
- Provided patient care in the inpatient and emergency medicine setting as a clinical and academic physician at university, suburban, and rural healthcare systems
- Led multidisciplinary healthcare teams through academic, clinical, research, and operational projects and improvements at multiple hospitals and healthcare systems
Representative Coaching Engagements:
- I coached chief residents from a large internal medicine residency program on leadership skills for transitioning to new attending faculty physicians. I focused on conflict resolution, crucial communication, burnout/resilience, and leading their teams. The coaching was well received by the residents and their program director and led to an oral presentation and discussion at an American College of Physicians educational conference.
- I coached academic medical faculty on providing effective feedback to millennial learners. I focused on written versus oral feedback, goal setting, and effective follow-up with each learner. The program was well received by faculty, and learners felt it led to better and more effective feedback than in the past.
